Zaros is an interesting place to visit
You can participate in various everyday activities of the villagers, such as olive picking, grape picking, preparation of olive oil, preparation of the local alcohol "raki", cooking lessons of traditional recipes etc.
Enjoy the surroundings by horse back riding, hiking with experienced guides with the possibility to sleep overnight in a mountain shelter at Somari, or take long walks at the paths beside the lake, the gorge or the mountain.
If you are determined to climb to the mountain top of Psiloriti, we'll arrange for an experienced guide to show you the way. You can drive up to Kollita and then go up a difficult path for about 3 hours. The view is breathtaking….
Another hiking excursion is to the Camaraiko Cave next to the village of Kamares. It's a pretty difficult uphill path and it will take you approximately 6 hours to reach the Cave.
The crossing of Saint Nicholas΄ gorge, otherwise knows as Rouvas, is also a great daily excursion. It's an easy walking path and it'll take you approximately 2 hours to cross it. During your walk you'll see interesting varieties of wild flowers and herbs.
The expert hikers do know the European path E4, which also crosses Zaros.
Also, if you are interested in moto-crossing, there are motor bikes you can rent and take day trips with a guide along interesting paths.
