The excellent cafe - taverns "VEGERA" in the village is the ideal place to set you up for your adventures. It is open all day and into the night and you will be warmly welcomed by Vivi and her lovely mother Irini. These ladies know how to cook. They provide a large variety of mouth - watering delicious Cretan dishes.

How you get to VEGERA in Zaros
From Heraklion you may take the bus that leaves everyday at 05.30, 13.30 and 15.00.
The ticket costs 3,80 euros.
From Heraklion to Moires (the closest village to Zaros) there is a bus every hour and the ticket costs 4,50 euros. From Moires to Zaros (a distance of 10klm) you may take a taxi and it'll cost you 10,00 euros.
If you contact us ahead of time, we can come pick you up free of charge.
If you wish to rent a car, after a special arrangement we made with the car rental agency the cost for the whole week is from 180,00 to 200,00 euros.
